Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, many babies born by Ukrainian surrogate mothers, were under the care of nannies until the arrival of their parents.
The reunion was to take place in spring, but because of the global pandemic, Ukraine closed its borders in accordance with the decree of the Сabinet of Ministers “On the temporary restriction of the border crossing of the country” in order to prevent the spread of the virus in Ukraine.
Many foreigners were, therefore, unable to come and pick up their children.
Now families can be reunited, although the parents still have to undergo a quarantine which has been reduced from 14 to 7-8 days. (Parents must have completed this quarantine in the hotel specially fitted out for this).
