Medically assisted procreation: France or Ukraine?

Medically assisted procreation: France or Ukraine?

October 14, 2020

Medically Assisted Reproduction (MAP) is a program that allows a couple diagnosed as infertile to have a child. During treatment, two methods can be used to begin the pregnancy procedure: in vitro fertilization or artificial insemination.

Accessible in France as well as in Ukraine, this program is reserved for couples of different sexes. For several years now, Ukraine has been attracting more and more couples hoping to have a child.

MAP in Ukraine?

While treatment is regulated by law in both countries, Ukrainian law is less categorical regarding patients’ age. In Ukraine, the law does not set any age limit for receiving MAP, whereas, in France, the age limit is set at 43 years for women.

Another reason to choose Ukraine is the attractive MAP cost, which is much lower than in other countries; this makes Ukraine an attractive destination for couples facing infertility. To maintain a high level of service quality, Ukrainian clinics undergo regular checks and are obliged to obtain a permit issued by the Ministry of Health.
